Full Voting Privileges
As a full member of WCSAP , your program will be able to vote for members of the Board of Directors (both your regional representatives and members - at -large). Your program will also have opportunities to vote, if proposed, on changes to organizational by-laws.
Free Training!
WCSAP conducts a yearly training series that focuses on issues surrounding advocacy, service provision and management issues. For members, this series is offered for free! Members are offered priority space, on a first come first served basis. On average, in 2004-2005, full-members used nine training spaces per agency: a value of $585.00 per program !
Conference Scholarships
WCSAP members receive one scholarship per program to our Annual Conference. Last year WCSAP 's conference held over twenty-five workshops that focused on sexual assault service delivery, prevention, and management. The annual conference is a superb opportunity to gather skills, network with other programs, and meet as a community of activists dedicated to the elimination of sexual violence. Last year, scholarships were valued at $500 per program!
Technical Assistance
WCSAP provides opportunities for extensive access to technical assistance and resource sharing. Last year WCSAP provided assistance regarding a variety of issues including prevention, community development, service provision, accreditation, community coordination, management and organizational development, educational resources, training, and curriculum development. This technical assistance can occur over the phone or on-site to help address the challenges that sexual assault programs face daily. Last year, WCSAP answered over 1,200 technical assistance calls, and were on-site with members over 40 times.
Legislative and Public Policy Advocacy
The WCSAP legislative committee creates a full legislative agenda for the benefit of sexual assault programs across the state of Washington . This agenda, and our email updates, enable members to track emerging issues that affect rape crisis centers. Members receive weekly updates of key issues, access to WCSAP staff to discuss or clarify legislation, notification of issues that legislators should hear your opinion about, and the opportunity to participate in Lobby Day each year. Full members receive a travel reimbursement up to $150 to participate in Lobby Day .
Lending Library
As a member of WCSAP , programs have full checkout privileges for books, videos, and other media that the WCSAP library contains. Our library now contains over 6,400 articles, books, dissertations, prevention materials, and videos that pertain to sexual assault. The library also contains books on management, board development, and organizational issues.
Sexual Assault Awareness Month
Each year a committee of WCSAP members selects a theme to commemorate Sexual Assault Awareness Week in Washington . WCSAP then makes promotional materials, in Spanish and English, available for distribution to members. Last year WCSAP distributed 40,000 posters, 40,000 pencils, and post-it notes to member agencies to assist with their awareness efforts!

WCSAP 's newsletter which contains information about training opportunities, timely topics, regional updates, and other information that can enhance your efforts to promote sexual assault awareness in your community
Research and Advocacy Digest
a quarterly publication from the coalition, which examines current sexual assault research and practice. Topics for this newsletter have included sibling sexual assault, male victimization, and sexual assault statistics.
Partners in Social Change
A quarterly newsletter that discusses sexual assault prevention efforts and tools. Each issue includes discussions of social change approaches as well as publications and educational materials.
As a member of WCSAP you also have the opportunity to strengthen the coalition by lending your voice to the other programs and supporting members of the coalition. By keeping in contact with your regional representative, attending regional meetings, and the WCSAP membership meeting at the annual conference, programs can help create a comprehensive view of sexual assault response in the state of Washington .
Together, our voices make strong statement about the impact of sexual violence. Together, we can work towards a future free from sexual assault. Your commitment to join WCSAP lends a voice to our work, and our movement.
Please be aware that your membership dues are used to support the coalition's legislative efforts on behalf of victims and survivors of sexual violence.
