Description:
The Therapist position provides therapy services to individuals or groups assuring trauma informed therapeutic services to the survivors living in Grant and Adams Counties. New Hope provides a wide range of victim centered trauma informed advocacy services to survivors and victims of crimes (domestic violence, sexual assault, child physical and sexual abuse, general crimes and elder abuse. A therapy service is also included in the broad menu of services offered at New Hope. Trauma-informed individual and/or group treatment services is offered to individuals with emotional, behavioral and other mental disorders, to enhance independent choice, satisfaction and optimum participation in the community, family, and employment or education environments. This position may be required to work various hours/days of the week and is expected to work a minimum of 40 hour per week. The schedule for this position will be set by Department Director and may be changed as Agency/department needs change. Time in the main office and time in outstation offices will depend on client need. An agency owned vehicle will be dedicated to this position for travel.

The Safe Housing Advocate is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the shelter facilities and for providing empowerment-based direct services to adult and child guests and callers on the 24-hour help-line. Direct services include: Shelter intakes; Crisis intervention; Safety planning; Emotional support; Information about domestic violence, sexual assault, and trauma responses; Referrals to community resources; Accountability discussions; Sobriety support; Conflict resolution with other residents; And, parenting information and support; Holidays, evenings, weekend, weekday, and on-call overnight hours are required.
