The Power of Primary Prevention Education in High Schools

Primary prevention strategies are possible in a high school setting. This webinar will walk you through practical steps of how to develop or implement a prevention program in your area schools.   You will learn the importance of utilizing evidence-based and theory-driven research in comprehensive sexual violence prevention programs.  And you will discover you don’t have to do it all on your own by learning how to draw on external resources to assist in the development, maintenance, and implementation of a prevention program.

 Objectives

  • Participants will understand the importance of utilizing evidence-based and theory-driven research in comprehensive sexual violence prevention programs.
  • Participants understand how to develop or implement a curriculum in their area and how to ensure it is culturally relevant to the populations served. 
  • Participants will learn how to utilize external resources to assist in the development and implementation of a prevention program.
  • Participants will gain practical strategies for accessing schools, “how to get in the door.”
