Prison Rape Elimination

Sexual assault in prisons, jails and other detention facilities is a long-standing problem in this country and around the world. In 2004, the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) was signed into law.

The Washington State Department of Corrections was awarded a grant under PREA – and has subcontracted to WCSAP to create curricula and provide training in the areas of Inmate Orientation, Staff training and Investigations for both adult and juvenile facilities.
