TechnologyTechnology increasingly affects all of our lives - and has specific and critical impacts on work with survivors. Emerging technologies from chat rooms to national databases pose challenges for survivor safety, privacy, communication and outreach. WCSAP provides technical assistance and training on technology issues to local programs and state coalitions. Additionally, we monitor policy and technology trends that impact survivors on a state and national level. WAVAWNet (Washington
Violence Against Women Network) NPower Seattle has provided classroom training on software and computer maintenance for the WAVAWNet project – bringing this important training to both sides of Washington State. SafetyNet, a project of the National Network to End Domestic Violence, provides training on a national level for advocates and others who work with survivors. Both WCSAP & WSCADV have assisted in Train the Trainer events and tailored SafetyNet’s curriculum to domestic violence & sexual assault programs in Washington State. Additionally, WCSAP staff adapted the curriculum for audiences of sexual assault coalition staff and rape crisis centers.
