Using Ethics to Enhance Services for Crime Victims

Victim service providers provide professional services in a personal and genuine manner. Sometimes our personal and professional values and expectations of our co-workers, the victims we serve, or ourselves cause dilemmas. This workshop will outline the role of personal and professional values and ethics in the delivery of services to victims of crime to assist victim service providers in recognizing and resolving some of the ethical dilemmas they face while enhancing services for crime victims. Presenter will review the current framework of ethical standards defined by the National Victim Assistance Standards Consortium (2003). In addition, participants will have an opportunity to apply ethical considerations to case scenarios.
