Are you interested in increasing youth partnerships in your advocacy and/or prevention efforts? This training is designed to provide participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to not only work with youth, but to also share power and engage in meaningful partnerships.

Day 1

During the first day of this training we will gain some insight on the experience of being a young person in today’s world, and discuss how we can prepare ourselves as adults to work with youth. We will also talk specifically about how to bring youth voice into advocacy work.

Day 2

During the second day, we will discuss traditional models of youth engagement, and how they can serve to perpetuate adultism and other forms of oppression.

Participants will be introduced to more supportive and equitable youth engagement models, and will have the opportunity to discuss the pros and cons of various strategies. The second day will end with an opportunity for participants to think concretely about ways they can integrate youth voice and leadership into their work.

Sign-up Process

The first day of this training will be more applicable to advocacy, while the second day will be more focused on prevention.

People who do not do any advocacy as a part of their job will be waitlisted for the first day, and people who do not do any prevention as a part of their job will be waitlisted during the second day.

We encourage people to register for both days if they can, and we will open any remaining registration slots to the waitlist on Friday, January 4th. Please use the contact form below if you have any questions.
