Workshop Description:

This 23 hour training will satisfy the Office of Crime Victims Advocacy Core Training requirements for therapists treating victims of sexual assault/abuse. Prior to this training, participants must complete a 6 hour online training course. By submitting registration and being accepted into this training, you have access to WCSAP’s e-learning center. You will need to create a username and password allowing you to login to the online course. The online portion must be completed by 5:00 PM on Friday July 26th. Therapist Core consists of four parts, including the online and in-person portions of the training:

  • Online Course: this prerequisite will provide readings, reflections and quizzes focusing on philosophical foundations of social activism, diagnoses for adult and childsurvivors and assessment strategies.
  • Day One:  focus on adult victims. Registration begins at 8am and training will go from 8:30am and end at 3:00pm.
  • Day Two: Will focus on the underlying conditions of sexual assault and the training will go from 8:30am until 5:00pm.
  • Day Three: Will focus on childhood trauma and treatment. We will begin at 8:30am and end at 3:00pm.

LODGING:

WCSAP is unable to cover the cost of participant travel, accommodations, or meals. The Centennial Hotel Spokane is reserving a room block of standard single rooms at the per diem rate of $105 per night. Please call the hotel directly to make your room reservations: 1-844-733-3305.

PARKING:

Overnight parking is $6 per night. The Centennial Hotel Spokane's self-park lot is located on the North River Drive at the main entrance. Additional parking is available across the street in the North lot.

TRAINING HOURS & CREDITS:

This training will count as 23 CEU credits. You will receive 6 credits for the online portion and 17 credits for the in-person training;however, you cannot solely do one or the other.

COST: 

Members: There is no registration fee for WCSAP Program, Organizational and Individual Members or OCVA Sexual Assault Contractors.

CONFIRMATIONS:

Confirmations will be e-mailed or faxed to participants within a week of receipt of registration form.

ACCESSIBILITY:

WCSAP makes every effort to ensure accessibility. Requests for language interpretation and other accommodations must be made in advance.Please register three weeks in advance to allow time for scheduling interpreters.

DEADLINE TO REGISTER

Registration will be accepted until Friday July 26, or until the training is full. WCSAP members and OCVA sexual assault grantees receive priority registration.
