This 23-hour training will satisfy the Office of Crime Victims Advocacy (OCVA) Core Training requirements for therapists treating victims of sexual assault/abuse.
Therapist Core consists of:
Self-study assignments including online learning modules, recorded webinars or videos, reading and reflection.
A total of 7.5 hours of independent work.
Seven live training sessions (15.5 hours), and an orientation session, online via Zoom. Session times and lengths vary.

Wednesday, April 12th

Thursday, April 13th

- 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm : Children and Families part 3
Friday, April 14th
- 9:30 am - 12:00 pm : Adult treatment part 1
- 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm : Adult treatment part 2
This course covers:
- Philosophical foundations of social activism, diagnoses for adult and child survivors and assessment strategies.
- Underlying conditions surrounding sexual assault and examines issues related to the dynamics of sexual victimization, rape culture, and anti-oppression theory.
- Trauma/Treatment and clinical approaches pertaining to adult victims of abuse and assault and will include examining issues around diagnosis, assessment, and creating the therapeutic environment.
- Trauma/Treatment and clinical approaches pertaining to child victims of abuse and assault and will include examining issues around diagnosis, assessment, and creating the therapeutic environment.
- This course is worth 15 CEU credits.

- There is no registration fee for OCVA Sexual Assault grantees and WCSAP members.
- The cost is $300 for those who are NOT WCSAP members or OCVA Sexual Assault grantees.
