Helplines are a connection to safety and comfort, a valuable source of information, and an entry to advocacy services. In this interactive workshop, we will explore how to apply the concepts of trauma-informed care to our communication and advocacy skills with survivors in crisis, paying particular attention to how the helpline can be a source of connection and empowerment for all survivors in the community. The feeling of justice is a very personal one. While for some a guilty verdict in a criminal justice process can ease the fear of not being believed, survivors report that it often doesn’t feel like justice. As survivor-centered services we need to be engaged in broader thinking related to the experiences of justice as defined by survivors. Register for this session.
All sessions 10 am - noon Pacific.
Registration is subject to the approval of WCSAP.
