This 23 hour training will satisfy the Office of Crime Victims Advocacy Core Training requirements for therapists treating victims of sexual assault/abuse. Prior to this training, participants must complete a 6 hour online training course. By submitting registration and being accepted into this training, you have access to WCSAP's e-learning center. You will need to create a username and password allowing you to login to the online course. The online portion must be completed by 5:00 PM on Friday January 31st. Therapist Core consists of four parts, including the online and in-person portions of the training.
- Online Course
- This prerequisite will provide readings, reflections and quizzes focusing on philosophical foundations of social activism, diagnoses for adult and child survivors and assessment strategies.
- Day One
- Focuses on the underlying conditions surrounding sexual assault and examines issues related to the dynamics of sexual victimization, rape culture, and anti-oppression theory. (The first day does not focus on issues related to providing clinical services).
- Day Two
- Focuses on Trauma/Treatment and Clinical Approaches pertaining to adult victims of abuse and assault and will include examining issues around diagnosis, assessment, and creating the therapeutic environment.
- Day Three
- Will focus on childhood trauma and treatment. We will begin at 8:30am and end at 3:00pm.

WCSAP is unable to cover the cost of lodging. Local hotel reservations must be made by participants by calling the Ramada at (360) 459-8866.
Training Hours and Credits
This training will count as 23 CEU credits. You will receive 6 credits for the online portion and 17 credits for the in-person training; however, you cannot solely do one or the other.
WCSAP makes every effort to ensure accessibility for participants that request them. If you need interpreter services, please register as soon as possible for this training.
Priority registration will be given to Office of Crime Victims Advocacy (OCVA) sexual assault services and prevention grantees and Washington Coalition of Sexual Assault Program (WCSAP) members. All other registrants will be admitted on a space available basis. Registration is subject to the approval of WCSAP.
Cost for members
There is no registration fee for OCVA grantees and WCSAP members.

Cost for Non-Members
$120.00 paid in full is required for non-members to register. Payment information will be emailed within a week of receipt of registration form.
