WCSAP has recently gone through some significant changes, and we’re working on creating a path to move forward to best serve our community.
After a temporary shutdown of services, WCSAP will be up and running again with limited services starting March 30. Although the agency will look a little different, our mission remains the same: To unite agencies engaged in the elimination of sexual violence, through education, advocacy, victim services, and social change.
Like most organizations, WCSAP is responding to recommendations regarding COVID-19. We are shifting to a service model in which most, if not all, of our employees work from home. We are ramping up our telephone and video capabilities to ensure we can provide needed communication and support for those we serve. Until we are able to do this, the best way to get in contact with us is by using our online webforms. By using our online webforms, your email is directed to the best person to answer your question.
In light of current circumstances, we made the difficult decision to cancel our annual conference scheduled for May 4-6. We recognize the value of bringing people together to learn and share, yet know that cancelling the conference serves our community’s health in a needed way. Anyone who has registered for the conference will receive a refund, and we will consider whether to reschedule later this year or hold off and put or effort into making next year’s conference the best ever.
As we prepare to restart operations next week, we will do so with a management change: Valériana Chikoti-Bandua and Michelle Dixon-Wall are leaving the agency.
We are thankful to both of them for their contributions to WCSAP and wish them the best.
As we look at our longer-term needs, we will consider contracting out some of our trainings and hiring an interim director to keep the agency stable as we identify the qualifications needed for a permanent director.

Have you considered joining the WCSAP Board of Directors? If so, we would love to talk with you. Serving as a board member is a gift to a nonprofit agency. WCSAP will lean heavily on the board this year to help define the future of the organization, including creating a sustainable leadership model and hiring a director. We did not lightly make the decision to temporarily shut down services in February; the agency needed an evaluation and re-set. That process will continue after we start offering services again on March 30. Part of the restart will include identifying the top priorities and targeting the highest needs first. Thankfully, WCSAP has an incredible team of employees who, working together, can accomplish so much.
As we re-launch with a limited number of services at first, we very much appreciate your flexibility and understanding.
Thank you also for your continued support and patience. We are proud to partner with you as we work together to support and advocate for people who have experienced sexual violence. We look forward to continuing our work with you into the future.
