Brief Job Description

The Grants Specialist (Commerce Specialist 1) provides technical assistance to staff and grantee’s on various program related issues. This position contributes to the unit’s technology and granting infrastructure to support the mission of the program and division by maximizing the availability of information and ease of operation.

This position is within the Office of Crime Victims Advocacy (OCVA), who serves as a voice within government for the needs of crime victims in Washington State. OCVA advocates on behalf of victims, administers grant funds for community programs, assists communities in planning and implementing services, and advises local and state government agencies of practices, policies, and priorities.

OCVA is housed within the Community Services and Housing Division of the Department of Commerce (Commerce). At Commerce, we are creative, collaborative, and trusted.
