Brief Job Description

ED manages the daily operations of the agency and its programs, services and staff within the framework and guidelines established by the BOD. Successful candidate must have work and life experience that demonstrates an understanding of domestic violence and sexual violence and how they intersect with other forms of oppression. Master’s level degree in a field relevant to the job is preferred but is not required. Minimum 4 years of experience as a manager/director of a community based not-for-profit agency is required. Applicants shall have competency in respect to gender-based violence, services, systems advocacy, and issues relating to domestic violence, sexual assault/abuse and child abuse. Experience in promoting and engaging an environment in which staff and management can voice ideas and concerns in collaborative efforts. Good humor, patience and humility is a must in dealing with all aspects of the job! HFCC houses the only nationally accredited children’s advocacy center on the peninsula. The ED also writes grants and funding proposals. The ED builds and maintains effective relationships within the service community by representing HFCC at public meetings and events and nurtures collaborative relationships with community leaders.
