Brief Job Description

The Domestic Violence Legal Advocate provides support and assistance to victims of domestic violence; assists in the prosecution of persons charged with domestic violence-related crimes; functions are liaison between victims and the criminal justice system, including police and the courts; locates and maintains contact with victims and witnesses; educates victims to court procedures and accompanies them to court; provides counseling, crisis intervention, referrals to social services agencies, enhances public awareness of domestic violence issues, reviews relevant City code and State laws for updates; and proposes policies that could assist in the reduction of domestic violence.

This position is part-time (14 hours per week). Remote evening work is frequently required; remote weekend work may be necessary.
