SAAM Sexual Assault Awareness Month

2022 Sexual Assault Awareness Month Materials

As the threat of COVID-19 seems to be fading, it is now more important than ever to reach out and reinforce the connections we have with our friends, family, and those we know are struggling. The enforced isolation of the last two years has left far too many of us, and those we love, in desperate need of connection and support.

We have an opportunity this Sexual Assault Awareness Month to reach out to survivors during this time of connection renewal. We can Be The Solution!

These stickers were selected by the SAAM committee from artist, The FrizzKid’s affirmation series, and have been distributed to our different member programs. Use these pictures in your communities to send to survivors — or really anyone that is experiencing isolation, grief, healing, loss, etc. — and offer a small token of the reconnection that is so restorative. We can invite our community to be a part of someone’s healing process.

Share the stickers so that those who need these messages most will see them. Affirm survivors and remind our communities that healing is important work.

We've included a "Let's Talk About Transforming Rape Culture" postcard that you can send to your English-speaking friends and communities, as well as to your Spanish-speaking ones. We’re also adding the corresponding brochure for caregivers and educators, "Let's Talk About Transforming Rape Culture" in both English and Spanish. We have additional copies for individuals or programs that need more, you can request more by contacting prevention.

All materials are free for OCVA funded Community Sexual Assault Programs and WCSAP Members as long as supplies are available. We are available to provide technical assistance and support as you engage in SAAM activities and/or utilize WCSAP resources in your community.
