Description

Shifting Boundaries is an intervention designed to reduce the incidence and prevalence of dating violence and sexual harassment among adolescents. The intervention consists of two parts:

  • a classroom-based curricula and
  • a school wide component.
Empirical Support

Most recent CDC review of effective and promising programs included Shifting Boundaries. Large scale evaluation (2011) found that the “building” (schoolwide) component was effective by itself and in combination with the classroom component. Classroom sessions alone were not effective according to this evaluation.

PreventConnect offers an overview of the curriculum and evaluation findings on the recorded webinar (2013).

Target Audience

Middle school students, 10-15 years old.
