Anna Rae Goethe is an immigrant rights attorney currently based in Los Angeles, California. From 2016-2020, she worked as a staff attorney at Northwest Immigrant Rights Project (NWIRP) in their Tacoma office. While at NWIRP, Anna Rae represented children and families who lived on the Olympic Peninsula and in Southwestern Washington (from Federal Way to Vancouver). Now, she is a staff attorney on the Children's Representation Project team at Immigrant Defenders Law Center in Los Angeles, California. Anna Rae's practice is focused on representing children in immigration court proceedings and helping them apply for relief from deportation, most frequently through applications for asylum or Special Immigrant Juvenile Status. Her clients include both detained children and children released to live with their families. Anna Rae is a Seattle native who misses the rain of Western Washington. She holds a B.A. in International Studies from the University of Chicago and a J.D. from the University of Washington. She is licensed to practice law in Washington and is Registered Legal Aid Attorney under the Multi Jurisdictional Practice Program in California.
