Washington Coalition of Sexual Assault Programs (WCSAP)
Kat (she/her/hers) is excited to return to WCSAP and continue her work in social change. In this role she provides training, technical assistance, and resource development for sexual assault programs and allied partners across the state. Her favorite part of coalition work is getting to work closely and support the efforts of preventionists. Reach out to her for support with primary prevention & health promotion best practices, exploring root causes & anti-oppression, curriculum design & evaluation, community & youth engagement strategies, and/or campaign & messaging development.
Kat has been working in the movement to end gender-based violence for over 15 years; previously providing advocacy for survivors of sexual and intimate partner violence at community and campus based local programs, as well as at a dual SV/IPV statewide coalition. Kat is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA where she studied sociology and religious studies, and also received a certificate in Gender Violence Intervention.
Outside of the office you might find her... cooking up a storm, working on a (jigsaw, word or number) puzzle, snuggled up with her two chihuahuas, or out in search of trails or spots to swim! And in case it's your kind of thing, she's a Virgo so you could also reach out to her to nerd out about cute spreadsheets & lists, the oxford comma, or other organizational fun.
