Rebuilding Hope! The Sexual Assault Center for Pierce County
Stephanie Sacks is the Clinical Director of Therapy Services with the Rebuilding Hope! The Sexual Assault Center for Pierce County where she has worked for the past 25 years. She holds a Master’s Degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Drama Therapy from the California Institute of Integral Studies and is licensed with the state and certified with the National Board of Certified Counselors as a Mental Health Therapist. She has worked directly with thousands of survivors of sexual violence (assault/abuse/harassment/sex trafficking) as well as provided training, consultation and supervision to many others in the field. Stephanie has spoken to a wide variety of audiences regarding typical reactions to trauma and the impact of sexual violence on the victim, including as an Expert Witness in the military and civilian court systems. For the last 15 years Stephanie has provided training through the Office of Crime Victim’s Advocacy and the Washington Coalition of Sexual Assault Programs on treatment for sexual assault survivors. In addition, over the last 20 years Stephanie has provided training and consultation to professionals from various fields related to vicarious trauma and the impact working with trauma has on the helper.
