During this time of social distancing, we are using a combination of live webinars, recorded webinars, reading, journal prompts, role playing, and e-learning courses to ensure advocates are able to get their initial 30 hours of training.
Live Webinar sessions will take place on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays, 10:00 am - 12:30 pm, over the course of three weeks:
- Mon. 10/19, Wed. 10/ 21, Fri. 10/23
- Mon. 10/26, Wed. 10/28, Fri. 10/30
- Mon. 11/2, Wed. 11/4 & Fri. 11/6
A mandatory orientation will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, October 13 to review the syllabus, technology, and platforms we will be utilizing, and to answer questions. We estimate about 30 minutes or more depending on participants questions. This orientation will be recorded for those who need to view it at a later time.
I actually prefer this format to being in a room all day with other people. It's heavy information and I have been able to stretch and practice breathing techniques without worrying about anyone else's perceptions of me. -an online Core participant
